About this event
A dynamic workshop for Cornell University Volunteers
Fearless Fundraising: The Art and Science of Giving and Getting
Want to make a big impact with your club’s scholarship this year? Or grow the skills to support your favorite causes? Here’s the place to start!
Our greatest fear is not public speaking. It’s fundraising.
Volunteers often are reluctant to ask others for philanthropic support, yet they are critical to the success of our nonprofit institutions and universities. This educational and entertaining session will give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to actively participate in this valued endeavor, one critical to the prosperity of Cornell, our clubs and classes – and one that can and will give you tremendous rewards and satisfaction.
The session will be led by Daniel Mansoor ’79 MBA ’80 , Founder and President, GoodWorks Group, as well as Carla Ingrando , Major Gifts Officer, Cornell AAD. Dan began his development career at the Johnson School in 1984 and has spent the past 35 years advising nonprofits in fundraising and development. A master trainer, he taught the graduate course in fundraising at Case Western Reserve University. He is a frequent lecturer at Cornell where he will teach a fundraising class at the Brooks School this coming April. Carla has been a member of the Cornell University development team for nearly nine years. In addition to her role in major gifts, she teaches a popular graduate course in philanthropic leadership.
