EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Broken Arrow Schools launched a new course at Edison High School where students explore artificial intelligence and create video games. Teacher Wyatt Pursley said the class also focuses on media literacy to help students tell real from fake information. KJRH
- ➤ The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education named seven high schools as Oklahoma Promise 2025 State Champions, with Broken Arrow recognized as the Class 6A winner for having 160 eligible seniors. The scholarship program helps students earn tuition at public colleges. KRMG News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Stitt signed two executive orders Thursday to boost higher education by promoting accelerated degree pathways and linking funding to workforce outcomes. The orders also set new policies for tenure reviews and performance standards. KRMG News
- ➤ Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced a settlement with two pharmaceutical companies that will pay $17.85 million for alleged price hikes on generic medications. Residents who bought qualifying prescriptions between May 2009 and December 2019 can contact the Attorney General's office for compensation. KJRH
- ➤ A private school on Lynn Lane requested a safety zone with a flashing light, but city officials said they will install it if the school pays $7,500 over two years (the school declined to share the cost). KJRH
