  • After the Broken Arrow council rejected a proposed mosque, the Islamic Society of Tulsa held an open house Sunday in midtown Tulsa to address misconceptions about Islam and share community programs including a free clinic+food bank. Leaders plan to host more events for open dialogue.  KTUL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Pathways Adult Learning Center broke ground on a new facility that will expand services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in Broken Arrow, marking a step forward in local learning support.  FOX23
  • A bill aimed at raising academic performance advanced through the House Appropriations and Budget Education Committee on Monday (Feb. 16). Its author warned that Oklahoma classroom time lags behind that of other states, prompting concern for local schools.  Tulsa World

  • Since Feb. 15, SNAP guidelines changed under a Healthy Foods Waiver, so shoppers cannot use benefits for candy or sugary soft drinks but can buy groceries.
