- ➤ The Outsiders House Museum (near Admiral and Peoria) is hosting the 'Compassion In Action' donation drive on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to support Oklahoma Alliance for Animals by collecting supplies like Purina One dog and cat food, collars, lightweight tie-out cables, and cash while Tulsa Animal Services, Animal Aid of Tulsa and Oklahoma Ruff Refuge showcase pets looking for homes and offer complimentary museum admission along with a limited supply of t-shirts for $25. - ➤ A Broken Arrow man named LeShon Eugene Johnson was federally charged with running an animal fighting and trafficking operation after agents seized 190 pit-bull type dogs in October 2024 (the most ever confiscated in a federal dog fighting case), and his trial is set for May. KRMG News
- ➤ Ex-NFL player LeShon Eugene Johnson, a Haskell native charged in 2004 for dog fighting, now faces new federal charges after FBI agents raided his Broken Arrow home in October 2024 and seized 190 pit bull-type dogs used in illegal fights—if convicted, he could get up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine per charge. - ➤ The Oklahoma State Department of Health said there are nine measles cases in northeastern Oklahoma, with seven confirmed and two probable linked to household or family contacts after exposure in west Texas and New Mexico.
