Good morning, Broken Arrow.

On Monday, Broken Arrow firefighters rescued about eight ducklings from a storm drain—reuniting them with their family, while Owasso police rescued additional ducklings from another drain and released them into a nearby pond with their mother.

On April 22, over one hundred people gathered at a south Tulsa cemetery to lay to rest Dr. Leila Faraji and her daughter Rosa — who were swept away when their Broken Arrow family SUV was carried by floodwaters east of Leonard — while the father and his ten-year-old daughter survived the incident.

House Bill 1601 would let teachers use up-to six weeks of sick-leave to extend maternity leave to 12 weeks if passed, after a unanimous committee vote sent the bill to the full Senate.

If approved, the law will go into effect on November 1.
