- ➤ A shooting by Broken Arrow Police left one man dead, and the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office ruled the incident legally justified after reviewing body cam video. FOX23
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Volunteers from Tulsa and beyond are cleaning gravestones and making rubbings for 431 graves of British service members who died training during World War II; 23 of these graves are in Oklahoma, including one at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. The project, Bringing the Boys Back Home—named to honor the fallen—will send the rubbings to British authorities to mark the 80th anniversary of V-E Day. Tulsa World

- ➤ The Broken Arrow Fire Department partnered with SpectrumFX to add Firebane—a product that quickly controls lithium-ion battery and combustible metal fires—to all fire units. The product was tested last year in a controlled setting and will be evaluated over the next year to improve safety. FOX23
- ➤ Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt declared a disaster emergency on May 5 at 3:52 p.m. for 38 counties including Tulsa and Cleveland after heavy rain, flooding and severe storms threatened lives and property. The order makes state aid available for 30 days as communities address damage. News On 6
