ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On May 14th, Broken Arrow Fire Department responded to a major natural gas line break on 23rd Street — closing the road from Granger Street north to Omaha Street and prompting extra caution from drivers.  KTUL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office signed a cross-commission agreement with the Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse Police that allows officers to handle both tribal and non-tribal criminal cases in Wagoner County—improving public safety. The agreement was signed on May 14 after discussions to strengthen cooperation between the two agencies.  KRMG News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Student athletes and staff from school districts across Green Country boarded buses for the Special Olympics Oklahoma Summer Games on Wednesday morning at Oklahoma State University—where nearly 5,300 participants will compete through Friday. Schools from the region shared videos of their sendoff as 283 delegations registered in 11 sports, highlighting the event’s wide reach.  FOX23
  • Law enforcement officers from Green Country ran a torch run on May 14th carrying the Flame of Hope from New Block Park at 1710 Charles Page Blvd in Tulsa to Stillwater for the Special Olympics Summer Games. Officers from Tulsa Police, TPD Academy, Broken Arrow Police, Lighthorse Police and the U.S. Marshal Service joined the relay — helping to kick off the games, which run through May 16th.  News On 6
