  • Today, Broken Arrow hosts its annual Block Party at New Orleans Square from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with food trucks, live music, family activities and fireworks—road closures and designated parking are set for safety as the party will continue tomorrow with more performances.  KTUL

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Parkes Development Group and city officials broke ground yesterday on Adams Creek Town Center, a new 142,000 square foot retail center at the corner of Hillside Drive and County Line Road in Broken Arrow. The $70 million project is expected to boost the local economy—its future sales tax revenue will help fund public services and local education as stores open next year.  FOX23

  • Two Oklahoma teens are finalists in the Duck Tape Stuck at Prom contest for their handcrafted gowns inspired by the sea and childhood dreams. Kathryn Lermy from Broken Arrow used 26 rolls of Duck Tape and 80 hours for an ocean-themed dress while Brittany Blackwell spent 468 hours and 49 rolls to create a floral design — public voting is open until July 9 with a $15,000 college scholarship at stake.  News On 6

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • ODOT said the next beams for the I-44/US-75 project will start on Thursday and work will run until July 1—during which the eastbound ramp to southbound US-75 will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.—so drivers should plan alternate routes.  KRMG News
  • The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department warned local boaters to follow safety rules on Oklahoma’s waterways after heavy rains raised water levels at Grand and Hudson lakes, and officials said large crowds will arrive for the Fourth of July holiday. They stressed that wearing life jackets, checking weather conditions, and avoiding hazards — such as floating debris and submerged objects— are key steps to keep everyone safe.  News On 6
  • The GRDA Police Department is sharing boating safety tips for the Fourth of July holiday—heavy rains have raised lake levels and they advise boaters to wear life jackets, check weather before leaving the dock and avoid alcohol while on the water.  FOX23
