- ➤ The newly signed 'Big Beautiful Bill' may reduce federal funding for state Medicaid programs and add red tape that could cut services for clients, including those at the new New Leaf facility in Broken Arrow which opened last week+ manager Shelley Nachtigall said the organization is working to support its clients amid these concerns. KJRH
- ➤ The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority will start a $72 million project in October to smooth out a bumpy section of the Creek Turnpike in and out of Broken Arrow by replacing more than 480 concrete beams and repairing uneven bridges over Haikey Creek — a problem that has troubled drivers for years. The work will continue until 2027 to complete the long-overdue repairs. News On 6

- ➤ Pediatricians in Oklahoma say that nicotine poisonings in young children have spiked more than 700% due to flavored pouches that look like candy—toddlers easily ingest dangerous amounts leading to symptoms from nausea to life-threatening heart issues. They urge parents to keep nicotine products locked up and to contact Poison Control or seek emergency care if poisoning is suspected. News On 6
