Good morning, Broken Arrow.

Magic City Books is featuring six summer reads—covering nonfiction, romance, fantasy and children's literature—with a series of author events scheduled from July 23 through August 12 to promote discussion and community connection.

The bookstore offers sessions on topics ranging from historical insights to personal stories that aim to meet diverse reading interests.

Broken Arrow residents are excited about the filming of 'Horrified' starring Ron Perlman and Busy Phillips—tourism director Makala Barton said the production will spend $400,000 in town with an expected overall impact of $800,000 to $1 million, while filming begins at Stoney Creek Hotel in a couple weeks and lasts for four weeks.

Following state education laws enacted on July 21st, 2025, Broken Arrow schools have set new rules including cell phone restrictions in classrooms, changes to free lunch funding, and a requirement for high school students to pass a financial literacy course—new social studies standards now focus on Christian influences and controversial historical claims. Families should check local district guidelines and complete all required enrollment documents as they prepare for the 2025—2026 school year.
