Federal budget changes have shifted more SNAP costs to Oklahoma – putting about 131,000 residents at risk of losing food benefits.
U.S. Rep. Tom Cole said the state is not ready to pay the extra costs and local food pantries expect more patrons as benefits shrink.
City officials in Broken Arrow said delays on the five-lane project at west Houston Street and south Olive Avenue are due to heavy rains and unexpected utility issues—specifically, running into natural gas lines.
Director of Engineering Charlie Bright said the south side of the intersection will open in the next two weeks—but work on the lane project is expected to finish by early next year.
