  • Signature Symphony Artistic Director Scott Seaton and King Cabbage Brass Band members Nicholas Foster and Greg Fallis discussed their upcoming performance as part of the Route66 Playlist season— the event will bring live music to our community soon.  FOX23

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Friday morning, teachers and administrators met with state legislators to share their successes and concerns about Broken Arrow Public Schools+ they spent over an hour outlining details of classroom achievements and the need for more support.  Tulsa World

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ihle—103—received a commendation today from the U.S. Marine Corps Commandant for his role in World War II's Battle of Iwo Jima. He is recognized as Oklahoma's oldest living Marine.  FOX23

HEALTH NEWS

  • Over $4 million in opioid settlement funds is being allocated to 12 Tulsa County organizations to combat addiction by supporting education programs and public safety efforts — the grants will help distribute Naloxone and assist recovery programs for those in need.  FOX23
  • Local physician Dr. Brent Dennis of the Warren Clinic said parents must help college kids prepare for health emergencies by keeping medicines handy and knowing where to get care — a tip based on his own call about a college emergency — and he encourages setting up primary care now.  FOX23

SPORTS NEWS

  • Friday night of week 2 high school football, Jenks dominated the Backyard Bowl and Broken Arrow held off a strong comeback by the Mustang team — both games showed fierce competition and local team spirit.  Tulsa World
  • High school football Week 2 scores were released today and Broken Arrow beat Mustang 21–14 while many other schools posted their game results. The scoreboard covered matchups from across the region with scores recorded from over 70 teams.  Tulsa World
