EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Oklahoma Supreme Court granted a temporary stay on the new social studies standards on Monday, September 15th at 5:48 p.m.—the 2019 standards will remain in effect while a lawsuit over claims that the new standards promote Christianity and misrepresent history is heard. News On 6
- ➤ Broken Arrow Public Schools now offers bilingual students a chance to earn the Seal of Biliteracy—which will appear on diplomas and transcripts at graduation in 2026—to show their language skills to colleges and future employers. Students can apply until November 14th and take a fluency test as part of the process. News On 6
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Zink Lake near the dam today has been fully drained for dam inspections after water levels dropped over the weekend—fishing and kayaking will resume when inspections are complete and the lake refills with adequate depth. KRMG News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Attorney General Gentner Drummond has requested proposals for legal services to investigate and possibly sue Roblox over claims that its platform exposes children to harmful content and predators—proposals are due on October 3 to guide potential state action. FOX23
