Saint Francis Health and Rogers State University signed an agreement Monday in Tulsa to speed up lab technologist training — students in the Medical Laboratory Science program can finish one year earlier at Saint Francis Hospital to ease the critical shortage of qualified professionals.

City officials said an algae bloom from extended heat is causing tap water in south Broken Arrow to smell and taste different while operators isolate and treat the affected basin plus adjust Verdigris River water; they assured residents the water meets safety guidelines and should improve as temperatures cool.
