- ➤ The City of Broken Arrow will hold its biannual Trash Bash and Recycling Rally on Saturday, October 11 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. as residents pick up litter along roads, waterways and public spaces while dropping off hard-to-recycle items at the Broken Arrow Maintenance Center — officials say that gloves, safety vests and bags are available by phone or online. - ➤ Bass Pro Shops held a hiring event on Wednesday and is holding one today in Broken Arrow to hire over 20 candidates for seasonal, part-time and full-time positions — shifts run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 101 Bass Pro Dr. FOX23

- ➤ State lawmakers, including Sen. Dave Rader and Rep. Anthony Moore, say new data from the National College Attainment Network show a 49.4% rise in FAFSA completions by high school seniors after a 2023 law made filing FAFSA a graduation requirement—helping more students get aid for college. KTUL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled the law to create business courts in Tulsa and Oklahoma counties unconstitutional because it gave the governor appointment power that conflicts with the state constitution—district judges must be elected by voters. Governor Stitt said he is not deterred and that lawmakers will work on a path forward such as the proposed law. KRMG News
