  • The ongoing government shutdown is straining local food banks as families face food insecurity. In Sapulpa, Caring Community Friends has helped 14,000 people over the past year and now serves 30 to 50 families each day – the group relies on donations and partner agencies to meet rising needs.  KTUL
  • Heroes Flight for Veterans, sponsored by Brookshire Grocery Company, returned to Tulsa from Washington D.C. on Wednesday amid a warm welcome from family and friends—nearly 50 veterans took part in an almost three-day tour of Washington's memorials.  FOX23
  • NewsChannel 8 teamed with WeStreet Ice Center to support families in need this season—local residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys or monetary donations at designated locations in Broken Arrow and nearby areas. The drive-through event will run on Dec 5 from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.—donors are encouraged to help brighten a child's Christmas.  KTUL

  • On Tuesday in Mustang, soldiers from the 74th Military Police Detachment had a farewell ceremony before they head to the Middle East for Operation Spartan Shield — nearly 50 soldiers will complete extra training at Fort Bliss and return home in fall.  FOX23
