- ➤ A local nonprofit in Broken Arrow is asking the community for help as its food pantry runs dangerously low on emergency food bags due to a sharp increase in need after SNAP benefits may not be renewed starting November 1 — the group will host a food drive on Halloween day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for staple donations such as pasta, rice, canned vegetables, and peanut butter. - ➤ 211 Eastern Oklahoma is connecting SNAP recipients to local food resources as a possible federal shutdown may pause benefits—calls to the hotline have already increased due to high food prices.
