  • Life.Church is giving $196,000 to Oklahoma food relief groups—such as Broken Arrow Neighbors, John 3:16 Mission and Tulsa Dream Center—to help cover extra costs in November. The grants, part of a total of $314,000 for 54 nonprofits across 12 states, will pay for expenses that exceed normal operating costs.  FOX23
  • 50s Diner in Broken Arrow honored veterans on Veterans Day by offering a free breakfast for the tenth year in a row—continuing a local tradition that many residents appreciate.  FOX23
  • Bill Bruck, a Vietnam veteran and Gold Star father from Broken Arrow, joined other veterans on Brookshire Grocery Company's Heroes Flight to Washington, D.C., where he honored a fallen soldier by tracing his name on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial—representing two generations of service. He showed deep respect for those who sacrificed their lives and carried on a legacy of remembrance.  News On 6

  • Oklahoma Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell and the Oklahoma Route 66 Centennial Commission announced early plans for a multiyear centennial celebration in 2026 that will feature parades, mural festivals, and concerts in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and along Route 66—events designed to honor the iconic highway’s history.  News On 6

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City and state leaders dedicated the new James Mountain Inhofe Veterans Medical Center Monday to honor veterans during Veterans Day. The 273000 square foot facility will serve about 65000 veterans and is under construction with plans to open by next summer—officials said it models improved care—ensuring better access near home.  FOX23
