COMMUNITY NEWS

  • City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma is asking for help collecting coats, blankets, sleeping bags, gloves & hats to support over 1,400 people experiencing homelessness in Tulsa as cold weather approaches. The nonprofit is replacing lost items from Operation SAFE and assembling warming kits with essential supplies for those in need.  FOX23

EDUCATION NEWS

  • RSU nursing seniors participated in an active shooter simulation to learn how to respond to severe emergencies before graduation. RSU police and faculty led drills with 22 students—preparing them for work at local hospitals.  KTUL
  • Students in sixth grade at Centennial Middle School learned about Native American heritage through a hands-on cooking lesson where teachers and students prepared traditional fry bread — the lesson was led by Becky Bishop who shared her long-held recipe with the class. The school will host a cultural night on November 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. — the event will feature food, dancers and a live teepee to honor Native traditions.  News On 6

HEALTH NEWS

  • Ambetter members can now use a free YMCA membership—valid at local centers and online—for access to fitness, nutrition and wellness programs. The Oklahoma Alliance of YMCAs announced the partnership to help members lead healthier lives.  KRMG News

SPORTS NEWS

  • FC Tulsa has invited fans to join a pep rally at McNellie's Pub on Saturday ahead of the Western Conference Final against New Mexico United. The rally follows last weekend’s win — a 1-0 victory with a crucial extra-time goal by midfielder Stefan Lukić — that sent the team into its first conference final.  FOX23
