- ➤ The Tulsa Oilers and The Salvation Army are partnering this holiday season for the Red Kettle Campaign to raise funds for local families in Broken Arrow, Tulsa and Jenks—supporting local efforts with food, shelter and toys. The Oilers will join a bell-ringing event on December 6 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.—fans can donate and meet players—at several Reasor’s locations. KRMG News
- ➤ Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance's Coats for Kids drive collected more than 6,000 coats to help children stay warm this winter—donations came from county board members and local events—and will be sent to schools throughout all 77 counties. KTUL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Oklahoma 529 is celebrating its 25th anniversary by launching a scholarship giveaway in partnership with Upromise—families who link their accounts from now until Dec. 19 can win a $1,000 scholarship while two others receive a $529 contribution, and over 1,100 linked accounts have already added more than $40,000 to education savings, according to State Treasurer Todd Russ.
