COMMUNITY NEWS

  • After thieves stole nearly $2,000 in grooming supplies, collars, and car seat covers from Legacy of Hope, a local dog rescue, community members donated food, supplies (and funds) to help replace the loss. Director Marcye Davies said the donations highlight Broken Arrow's strong community spirit.  KJRH
  • Broken Arrow Fire Department rescued a cat stuck on the roof of a three-story building yesterday at 6:30 a.m. after a neighbor reported it crying (the pet was not injured and has been reunited with its owner).  KTUL
  • Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma received a $9.4 million TSET Legacy Grant to launch Feed Oklahoma, a statewide school meal initiative that provides chef-designed frozen meals to 200 schools + support from the Regional Food Bank.   • A New Leaf is preparing to deliver over 5,000 poinsettias this holiday season, giving clients valuable job skills and community connection. Orders are accepted until Dec. 23 for final deliveries on Dec. 24 (clients work in the greenhouse to prepare vibrant varieties).  News On 6
